Helmut P. Gaisbauer is Post-Doc. Fellow at the chair in Political Theory and History of Political Thought with special emphasis on European integration at the Department of Political Science as well as at the Salzburg Centre of European Union Studies (SCEUS)/Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at the University of Salzburg, Austria. He received his degrees from the University of Salzburg (M.A. in 2000, PhD in 2006). Gaisbauer is the author of Nizza oder der Tod! Zur negativen Dialektik von Erweiterung und Vertiefung der Europäischen Union von Nizza bis Lissabon (2010) published in the Studies on the European Union series (Nomos) edited by Wolfgang Wessels as well as of several peer-reviewed publications. He regularly teaches courses in Political Theory as well as in European Integration. In 2008 he has been awarded the Vice rector's award for innovative (now: excellent) teaching. His main area of work includes questions of EU enlargement, (EU) constitutionalisation, Euroskepticism, democracy and legitimacy, EU Justice and Home Affairs and most recently the politics of differentiated integration. Gaisbauer, among other things, is responsible for the SCEUS's Lecturer-in-residence Programme. |
