Amount of Tuition Fees
According to § 91 of the Austrian Universities Act of 2002 valid since the Summer Semester of 2013 the following tuition fee regulations apply:
The ÖH (Austrian national union of students) fee (students fee) is € 20.20 and must be paid, without exception, by all students, even those who are exempt from paying tuition fees.
Regular Students
Tuition fees are € 363.36 and for third country nationals € 726.72 plus the additional ÖH (Austrian national union of students) fee of € 20.20 per semester.
Fundamentally, students at all Austrian universities students are obliged to pay tuition fees, except for students who are exempt from paying tuition fees generally or for a limited period.
Temporary Exemption
Students may temporarily be exempt from paying tuition fees if there are valid grounds. In this case, only the ÖH (Austrian national union of students) fee has to be paid.
Non-Degree Programme
Regardless of their nationality these students have to pay tuition fees of € 363.36 plus the ÖH (Austrian National Union of Students) fee of € 20.20 from the beginning of their studies. Tuition fees will not be increased during the enrollment or the extended registration period.
Non-degree students who are solely attending a university training course, are exempt from tuition fees and only the course fees and the ÖH (Austrian National Union of Students) fee have to be paid.
