The following selected list of publications give an indication of the sort of research we work on within the group. For a full publication list see here. These publications come from work done within the former group of John Dunlop, Biomimetic Actuation and Tissue Growth, in the Department of Biomaterials, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces, Potsdam, Germany.

Our research interests range from exploring:

  • the role of substrate geometry on cells and growing tissues,
  • mechanical design principles of morphing materials (natural and synthetic),
  • structure-function relationships in biological materials, and
  • simulations of active matter.

    Political education has been a general teaching principle in Austria since 1978, that is, an educational and developmental task, which is the responsibility of the teachers of all school subjects and grades. The lecture series will show ways in which democracy education can work in different subjects, so that student teachers and educators have different perspectives on the same fundamental challenge.
    This SWEET SPOT takes place together with the Salzburg composer, experimental musician and sound artist, Werner Raditschnig. The series SWEET SPOT sees itself as a forum for both classical and completely new productions of electroacoustic music in Salzburg. In a lounge atmosphere, new pieces, as well as "classics" of the genre are heard and discussed, accompanied by a short introduction and the opportunity to discuss what listeners have heard.
    In this workshop, the eye should play an important role next to the ear. Using exercises, the participants will approach the subject in small groups and form visual, as well as acoustic sound.
    The relatively young democracy of Poland, whose political climate has intensified considerably since the last elections, is also moving increasingly to the fore. Politically critical leaders of representative cultural organisations have been, and continue to be, replaced by the new administration, while independent creative artists appear to be able to find niches that so far or already live outside the country.
    The workshop aims to examine the musicality of the body and, vice versa, the corporeality of music from a choreographic perspective. This approach corresponds with the extension of the concept of music, as well as the questioning of performance traditions in the context of New Music, which also puts a stronger emphasis on the body.
    With this new publication, the author from Upper Austria shows where misunderstood love can lead.
    The Leopold Kohr Academy has organized two events, one in September and another in October, 2018. Together with the University of Salzburg, the institution runs the Kohr Archive.
    On 6 December, 2018, the University of Salzburg will host the WTZ Training Days on the subject of Kommunikation, Dissemination und Verbreitung in H2020 projects.
