    Noch nie waren in Österreich so viele forensische Patient*innen untergebracht wie zum Stichtag 1. Oktober 2020. Eine Entlastung des Maßnahmenvollzugs, also die Behandlung geistig höhergradig abnormer Rechtsbrechender, ist dringend erforderlich und unumgänglich.
    In der sozialpädagogischen Praxis sehen sich Mitarbeiter*innen (Akteur*innen) mit vielerlei Herausforderungen in komplexen, offenen sozialen Problemsituationen konfrontiert, denen es „fachlich“ und „qualitätsvoll“ zu begegnen gilt.
    Das Chinazentrum veranstaltet zu diesem Thema ein Online-Symposion am 12. und 13. November 2020. Menschen mit sichtbarer asiatischer Herkunft sind in Europa und den USA – vor allem seit COVID19 – verstärkter Diskriminierung ausgesetzt. Doch was steckt hinter dieser Angst und wie kann diese Form des Rassismus wirkungsvoll bekämpft werden?

    Im Rahmen eines sechsjährigen Laserscan-Monitorings in den Hohen Tauern haben Geowissenschaftler aus Österreich, Deutschland und der Schweiz (GEORESEARCH, Universität Salzburg, TU München, Universität Bonn, Universität Lausanne) den Zusammenhang zwischen aktuellem Gletscherrückgang und Steinschlagaktivität untersucht.

    Der Fachbereich Slawistik lädt zusammen mit dem Kulturzentrum DAS KINO und dem Russlandzentrum zur fünften Kinoreihe mit ost- und mittelosteuropäischen Filmen ein. Im Rahmen des Filmklubs „Slawistyka, Slavistika, Cлавистика“ werden preisgekrönte aktuelle polnische, russische und tschechische Filme mit gesellschaftlicher und politischer Thematik gezeigt.
