What is an Erasmus program?

Erasmus helps you to visit other European countries to extend your studies at other universities. Going abroad has many advantages, for example to improve your language and intercultural skills and of course to get in contact with other universities. The lectures you are visiting during your Erasmus study period will be credited in Germany/Austria. You won’t  lose any study time and you will  not have to pay tuition fees at your chosen host university.
Furthermore, you may also apply for financial assistance and  and to get an EU-funded language course before you start of your Erasmus period. Note that the Erasmus program is not exclusively tied to studies at universities but also allows people to attend to (industrial based) internships. For more information see also:

    The University Council approved the proposals of the designated Rector Hendrik Lehnert, and chose Nicola Hüsing, Katja Hutter, Barbara Romauer and Martin Weichbold as the new Vice-Rectors. The new Rectorate will start work on 1 October, 2019.
    In a ceremony on the "Day of the University" yesterday, Rector Heinrich Schmidinger bade farewell. Previously, he had discussed with his successor Hendrik Lehnert on the past, present and future of the Paris Lodron University Salzburg.
