Collaboration 
ALiEN works in collaboration with research groups and centres from across Europe, including London, Bristol, Reims, Brno, Szeged, Tartu, Thessaloniki, Greifswald, Palma de Mallorca, Cork, Dublin, Gdansk, Tampere. Overseas collaboration include New Delhi, Fudan University Shanghai and Berkeley. 

Research Networks 
Interdisciplinary projects are set up within the framework of ALiEN in the Humanities (Literature Studies, Cultural Studies, Cultural Anthropology, Philosophy, Arts Studies), Social Sciences (Media Studies, History, Sociology), and in areas of the Life Sciences (Bio-ethics, History of Medicine).

  • FWF-Project: Fantastic Body Transformations / Fantastische Körpertransformationen (Body Transformations in British Fantastic Literature from the Mid-Eighteenth Century to the Present), 2004 ? 2008. Funded by the Austrian Science Fund.

The Society for Speculative Fiction was founded in November 2008 by students of the English Department, with the aim of making fantastic literature accessible to fellow students through lectures, film sessions and discussions.
