Main Library

Barrierefreiheit: Kurzbeschreibung des BildesThe Main Library accommodates basic and standard literature on all subject areas. Users can place their orders online and then pick up the items at the circulation desk. The reading rooms of the Main Library hold reference works, encyclopaedias, bibliographies as well as basic literature on all fields of knowledge. These can only be used in the readings rooms and are not for loan.

At present, the holdings of the Main Library comprise 1.2 million volumes and numerous new media like e-books, electronic databases and e-journals.

The Special Collections Department is located in the Main Library and preserves the exceedingly precious treasures of the University Library of Salzburg: 1.054 manuscripts, 4.123 incunabula and post incunabula as well as about 2.000 works of graphic art.

    On January 17th 2020, Dr. Jonas Eberle will hold a talk on "Species Delimitation: Current Challenges and how it enabled the Study of South African Chafer Populations". It will take place at 2 pm in lecture theatre 436 at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Hellbrunnerstrasse 34. The Department of Biosciences cordially invites all listeners!
