Main Library
The Main Library accommodates basic and standard literature on all subject areas. Users can place their orders online and then pick up the items at the circulation desk. The reading rooms of the Main Library hold reference works, encyclopaedias, bibliographies as well as basic literature on all fields of knowledge. These can only be used in the readings rooms and are not for loan.
At present, the holdings of the Main Library comprise 1.2 million volumes and numerous new media like e-books, electronic databases and e-journals.
The Special Collections Department is located in the Main Library and preserves the exceedingly precious treasures of the University Library of Salzburg: 1.054 manuscripts, 4.123 incunabula and post incunabula as well as about 2.000 works of graphic art.
