17 May: Urban Space as a Cultural Zone of Negotiation

To be able to participate actively in shaping one's own life is regarded as a fundamental right of civil society and includes the right to cultural participation. But is this participation made use of and fully utilized?

Denn zumeist wissen BürgerInnen sehr genau, wo Veränderungspotentiale des eigenen städtischen Umfeldes vorliegen und welche Erneuerungen sie sich für den eigenen Stadtteil oder Block wünschen. Oft mangelt es jedoch an dem Impuls, (selbst) aktiv zu werden. Zumeist fehlen auch die erforderlichen Werkzeuge, um Prozesse des Wandels zu initiieren und Schritte des Handelns zu setzen.Das Symposium mit Gastvorträgen von Christa Müller, Simone Egger und Hilke Berger setzt sich mit dem zivilgesellschaftlichen Potential in urbanen Veränderungsprozesse auseinander, erörtert unterschiedliche künstlerische und kulturelle Artikulations- und Handlungsstrategien und reflektiert Formen des Mit-Einanders als Praxen einer intervenierenden stadtpolitischen Haltung.

    The working world is in a state of upheaval. Keywords such as “industry 4.0” or “digital transformation” are common.     Thanks to a generous legacy by Kurt Zopf, the University of Salzburg awards the Kurt-Zopf Prize, which is endowed with 10,000 euros, for habilitated members of organizational units of the university, which cover the areas of humanities, cultural and / or social science, jurisprudence or theology.

    For the 29th time, the AGIT - SYMPOSIUM and EXPO for Applied Geoinformatics will take place from 5 to 7 July, 2017, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The event focuses on the latest technologies and innovations in geoinformatics.
    CHILDREN'S RIGHTS, as adopted by the United Nations in 1959 and extended to the legally binding Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1989, are at the heart of this year's International Pedagogical Working Day in Salzburg, which will take place 10 - 14 July. 2017.
