»In Stein gemeißelt - Salzburger Barockinschriften erzählen« - Christoph Brandhuber and Maximilian Fussl persue the traces of the past. The path leads through Alt- and Lodronstadt up to the gates to Hellbrunn and Maria Plain.

Sie erklären philologische Hintergründe und historische Zusammenhänge dieser steinernen Chronik der Stadt. Dabei wird schnell klar: Die lateinischen Barockinschriften wetteifern um unsere Aufmerksamkeit!

Mitten im bunten Treiben der Mozartstadt erzählen lateinische Barockinschriften aus Salzburgs bewegter Vergangenheit. Im Dom wird ein Erzbischof vom Exekutor ausgenommen, am Petersfriedhof schenkt ein Gastwirt Freibier aus, in Sankt Sebastian setzt ein Hexenkommissar jeden Stein in Bewegung, und auf der Heiligen Stiegeder Kajetanerkirche legt der kopflose Märtyrer Vereinus sein letztes Zeugnis ab.

Die geistreichen Professoren der Benediktineruniversität wussten auf unnachahmliche Weise festzuhalten, was von ränkevollen Räten, tollkühnen Haudegen, genialen Musikern und freigebigen Matronen in Stein gemeißelt die Zeiten überdauern sollte.

    Around 200 representatives from all Austrian universities and colleges met at the University of Salzburg to discuss developments in international cooperation.
