14 June: Workshop: Music Boards

Martina Schlusnus (Architecture & Design, Munich) / Elena Rykova (Composer, Boston / Moscow) Date: Thursday, 14 June, 2018 Time: 17: 30 - 21: 00 Location: the Atelier at the KunstQuartier, Bergstraße 12a, 5020 Salzburg

In this workshop we will look into possibilities of interacting with things around us in a new way, making them speak and sound. There is a hidden sound creature inside each existing object, our goal will be to find the way to communicate with it and integrate it into creation of our own unique music instruments, developing techniques of playing them and playing around with it by the end of the workshop altogether.
It will be a highly interactive playground with the insight into the Thing Theory, music discourse and building techniques via practice and art making.

Participants are also welcome to bring any screws and nails of different length, springs, several hammers, wire cutters and scissors, screwdrivers (better electrical), little pieces/cubes of wood or similar construction materials with them, whatever they have at home/garage that they would like to use in building their instruments.

Open to all. Limited number of participants.
