17 -21 September: Orientation Week 2018 for Erasmus and Exchange Students

Orientation Week takes place from 17 - 21 September, 2018.

Mehr als 360 Austauschstudierende aus 57 nehmen mit Beginn des Wintersemesters 2018/19 ihr Auslandsstudium an der Universität Salzburg auf. Die international Studierenden kommen aus fünf Kontinenten nach Salzburg und absolvieren hier in der Regel einen ein- oder zweisemestrigen Studienaufenthalt. Möglich machen dies direkte Kooperationen zwischen den Universitäten, z.B. im Rahmen des Erasmus+, oder internationale Austauschprogramme.

Das umfangreiche Programm enthält Informationsveranstaltungen, Fakultäts- und Bibliotheksführungen sowie Networking-Aktivitäten, welche Austauschstudierenden die Gelegenheit bieten, sich kennen zu lernen und an der Universität und in der Stadt Salzburg heimisch zu werden. 

Weiterführend gibt es zusätzliche Veranstaltungen in der ersten Oktoberwoche:
Auf Wunsch vieler Studenten, die zur Orientierungswoche noch nicht da sind und erst zu Semesterbeginn in Salzburg anreisen, wird es erstmalig einen zweiten kompakten Informationstermin geben.

Der traditionelle Empfang des Bürgermeisters im Marmorsaal des Schloss Mirabell ist immer ein besonderes Highlight für alle StudentInnen und wird musikalisch von MusikerInnen des Mozarteums umrahmt.

Die International Semester Opening Party im jazzit! ist beides gleichzeitig: Abschluss der Willkommenstage und Start in das neue Wintersemester.

    On Friday, 7 September, 2018, in Berlin, the project "Making Art, Making Media, Making Change!", by Elke Zobl (Associate Professor of Science & Art), received the European Youth Culture Award (EYCA) in the category of "Science and Research”.

    The University Library Salzburg (Main Library and Faculty Library for Law) opens the door to the public and offers a diverse program.
    Political education has been a general teaching principle in Austria since 1978, that is, an educational and developmental task, which is the responsibility of the teachers of all school subjects and grades. The lecture series will show ways in which democracy education can work in different subjects, so that student teachers and educators have different perspectives on the same fundamental challenge.
    On the occasion of the Long Night of the Museums 2018, the Casting Collection of the University of Salzburg will be open to the public.

    The Leopold Kohr Academy has organized two events, one in September and another in October, 2018. Together with the University of Salzburg, the institution runs the Kohr Archive.
