9 November: Symposium & Exhibition Opening: "Silent Night: Christmas between Theological Claim and Popular Culture"

9 November, 2018, 14:00 to 17:30, Bischofshaus, Kapitelplatz 2Symposium "Silent Night: Christmas between Theological Claim and Popular Culture" and the Opening of the Exhibition "Silent Night, Holy Art" - cycle of paintings by Johann Weyringer (the Exhibition will be held until 7 December, 2018). Organized by Archdiocese of Salzburg and University of Salzburg, Faculty of Theology (organization: Alexander Zerfass).

Symposium & Ausstellungseröffnung

Am 09.11.2018 findet im Bischofshaus (Virgilsaal = ehem. Rupertsaal), Kapitelplatz 2, ab 14.00 Uhr das Symposium "Stille Nacht. Weihnachten zwischen theologischem Anspruch und Populärkultur" statt. Veranstalter sind die Erzdiözese Salzburg und die Universität Salzburg, Theologische Fakultät (Organisation: Alexander Zerfaß). Anschließend an die wissenschaftlichen Vorträge von Marlis Gielen (Salzburg), Andreas Marti (Zürich und Bern), Stephan Wahle (Freiburg i. Br.) und Thomas Hochradner (Salzburg) wird die Ausstellung zum Bilderzyklus "Stille Nacht, heilige Kunst" von Johann Weyringer eröffnet (Ausstellungsdauer bis zum 7. Dezember 2018).
