Kick-off Career_Mentoring III

On 18 September, 2019, the second round of Karriere_Mentoring III, the career development program for female scientists (PhD and post-doctoral students) of the Universities of Krems, Linz and Salzburg, began.

An der Veranstaltung (18.-21.9.19 in Gmunden) nahmen neben qualifizierten jungen Wissenschaftlerinnen der drei Universitäten hochkarätige MentorInnen aus dem In- und Ausland  teil.

Tagsüber fanden Workshops für Dissertantinnen und Habilitandinnen sowie eine Mentoring Lounge für die am Programm teilnehmenden MentorInnen statt.

Das Programm Karriere_Mentoring III läuft über eineinhalb Jahre und bietet neben fachlichem face-to-face-Mentoring und Einzelcoaching eigene Seminare für die jeweilige Zielgruppe der Dissertantinnen und Habilitandinnen.

So werden die teilnehmenden Mentees in ihrer Karriereetappe vielseitig gestärkt und in ihrer individuellen Laufbahnplanung professionell unterstützt. Ein gemeinsames Rahmenprogramm bietet Raum für Austausch über Fachbereiche und Karrierestufen hinweg und stärkt die interuniversitäre Vernetzung. Ziel des Programms ist es, zur Erhöhung der Anzahl von Frauen in wissenschaftlichen Führungspositionen beizutragen.

    Salzburg biologists Anja Hörger and Stephanie Socher receive 150,000 Euros in funding for their courageous project idea within the framework of the new “1000 ideas program” from the Austrian Science Fund FWF. Over the next two years the young scientists “Immortal Titans”, will analyze the huge genome of the Titan Arum, the largest flower in the world. The “1000 Ideas Programme” is intended to support high-risk research in order to increase Austria's innovative strength.

    150 participants have already taken the opportunity to register for more than 50 courses on IT and digitialisation at the ditact_women's IT summer studies at the University of Salzburg, which will take place from the 01.09.-12.09.2020.Registration is still possible until the 12. July and then the remaining places will be taken as last minute reservations.
