Successful Participation in an Armenian Research Competition

The Armenian religous anthropologist Dr. Yulia Antonyan (Jerevan State University) and the Austrian Armenologist and Head of the ZECO Centre for the Study of the Christian East, Univ.Doz.Dr.Dr.h.c. Jasmine Dum-Tragut Bakk.rer.nat., are among the winners of an international research competition in Armenia.

Das armenisch-österreichische Forschungsprojekt "Religious diversity in Armenia. An analysis of socio-cultural changes of the religious landscape in Soviet and Post-Soviet periods" der beiden Wissenschaftlerinnen wurde vom Wissenschaftsministerium der Republik Armenien als eines der Sieger ausgewählt.

In diesem dreijährigen Projekt wird ein Team aus Forschern der Staatlichen Universität Jerevan gemeinsam mit J. Dum-Tragut in Feldforschungskampagnen die aktuelle Situation, Geschichte und Traditionen der zahlreichen armenischen Religionsgemeinschaften und deren Beziehungen zur armenisch-apostolischen Nationalkirche erforschen, gemeinsame Workshops und Vorlesungen organisieren aber auch gemeinsame Lehrveranstaltungen an der PLUS und der Staatlichen Universität in Jerevan abhalten. Den Beginn macht J.Dum-Tragut mit einer Feldforschungsexkursion "Armenien - Religiöse Diversität im ältesten christlichen Land der Welt" im Sommersemester 2021.
