The new Rectorate of the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg welcomes you! We look forward to working with you at this university, which is as traditional as it is forward-looking. There are great challenges and exciting times ahead! With confidence and respect towards all employees and acknowledgement of individual responsibility, we want to create an innovative and creative environment at our university and, based on exceptional teaching and research, examine new things and put them to the tried and tested. Challenges are seen as an opportunity - with the aim of making Salzburg an internationally recognized university city. The Rectorate Team and their tasks:
Hendrik Lehnert focuses on the areas of International Relations, Personnel, Communication and Structural Development. He will initiate scientific cooperation and network the university both nationally and internationally. Lehnert studied psychology and medicine in Münster and did research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School in Boston. From 2014-17 he was President of the University of Lübeck and most recently was the Director of the Medical University Hospital Lübeck.
Nicola Hüsing is Professor of Materials Chemistry and has taken over the Vice Rectorate for "Research and Sustainability". She was previously head of the Department of Chemistry and Physics of Materials. Her research interests focus on the development of new synthetic routes to functional, hybrid materials. She is a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences.
Barbara Romauer assumes the budgetary responsibility for the University of Salzburg with the Vice Rectorate "Finance and Resources". Romauer previously looked after the finances of the Johannes Kepler University Linz. She studied business administration with a focus on accounting and business taxation, as well as auditing. She has held several positions in the economy and holds a number of supervisory board mandates.
Martin Weichbold dedicates himself as the Vice Rectorate of "Academic Affairs". He is responsible as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and is also the acting President of the Austrian Society for Sociology. His main area of interest, among others, includes comparative empirical social research. For many years, he has gained extraordinary experience in teaching and teaching coordination.
