    Der Kurt-Zopf-Förderpreis 2018 wurde gestern Mittwoch, dem 24. April 2019 an den Pflanzenökologen Stefan Dötterl, den Schlafforscher Manuel Schabus und an den Mathematiker Wolfgang Trutschnig vergeben. Die Salzburger Wissenschaftler erhalten für herausragende Publikationen jeweils 5.000,- Euro Preisgeld.
    Am 2. Mai 2019 um 19 Uhr findet in der Bibliotheksaula der Universitätsbibliothek (Hofstallgasse 2-4) die Verleihung des Sarah-Samuel-Preises für Kurzprosa 2019 statt.

Univ.-Prof. Dr. Heinz Fischer eröffnet am Mittwoch, 24.4.19 um 17 Uhr in der Bibliotheksaula der Universität Salzburg (Hofstallgasse 2) eine wissenschaftliche Nachwuchstagung zu „Die Krise des demokratischen Rechtsstaats im 21. Jahrhundert. Oder: Wie sich die Geschichte gegen ihr Ende wehrt.“ Gäste sind willkommen! Die Nachwuchswissenschaftler, u. a. aus Wien, Budapest, Deutschland und den USA kommen, diskutieren dieses Thema vom 24.-26. April 2019 auf der Edmundsburg.
    Für seine Publikation zur Entgiftung der Metalle Strontium und Barium in den Zellen der Hochmoor-Grünalge Micrasterias erhält der Salzburger Biologe Martin Niedermeier den Fritz-Grasenick-Preis 2018 der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Elektronenmikroskopie (ASEM) im Bereich Life Sciences. Niedermeier hat entdeckt, dass diese Algen aus den Schadstoffen Kristalle bilden, um mit ihnen zurechtzukommen und hat dies mit speziellen Methoden der Elektronenmikroskopie nachgewiesen.
