Art History, Musicology and Dance Studies

Welcome to the Homepage of the Department of Art History, Musicology and Dance Studies.

Emerging from the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences at the University of Salzburg, our department was created in 2004 as a result of the union of the Institute of Art History and Musicology. At the same time, the Dance Studies were added as a third field of study.

    The paper "The disabling effect of social policies on organizational career management" by Astrid Reichel (Professor for Human Resource Management at PLUS) et al. was awarded the Emerald Best International Symposium Award at the 2019 Academy of Management Meeting, which is the largest and most important management conference in the world, with over 10,000 participants.
    From 5 to 22 November, 2019, Südwind, in cooperation with the University of Salzburg, invites experts to the join in the topic of global inequalities and offers a diverse program: 13 events of the series "REDUCE INEQUALITIES think globally - act sustainably" from different perspectives with global issues and their interaction with the local and individual levels.

    The annual interdisciplinary Fachtagung des Wissensnetzwerks Recht, Wirtschaft und Arbeitswelt will take place on Thursday, 21 November, 2019, on the topic, "Work Anytime and Anywhere... Mobile Work and its Consequences" at the Edmundsburg.

    On 29 November, 2019, the conference, "Responsibility of Digitized Companies", will take place at the University of Salzburg. The focus is on the ethical and legal implications of the use of artificial intelligence.
    The Department of Linguistics invites all interested parties to participate in the 45th Austrian Linguistic Congress.
